What is the Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance?
The Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance (AVSA), established in 2013, is a program of the Arizona Housing Coalition that holds annual events and resource fairs in 13 of Arizona’s 15 counties, including the nation's largest event of its kind, the annual Maricopa County StandDown. These events allow veterans and their families who are experiencing housing instability and homelessness to get and stay connected to housing and supportive services.

Through Angry Crab Shack's 2024 “You Dine, We Donate” campaign, the brand vowed to donate $0.25 for every dine-in guest at all of their Arizona locations during the month of July. This resulted in a check for $100,000 being presented to the Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance to help connect veterans and their families experiencing housing instability or homelessness with necessary support and resources. We extend our gratitude to Angry Crab Shack and everyone who dined in during July for the 2024 You Dine, We Donate campaign.

The success of the coordination and programming for the Arizona Veteran StandDown Alliance (AVSA) is in large part due to the support of the Arizona Department of Veterans' Services. In addition to the AVSA, the Arizona Department of Veterans' Services support has enabled us to perform the following ending veteran homelessness activities:
