Arizona Housing Coalition Awards Grants to 55 organizations in 2023
Crowd to Home, Rural Solutions to Homelessness, Innovations for Impact, and Infrastructure Improvements Grants Awards
Thanks to the provision of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding from the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH), the Arizona Housing Coalition is pleased to announce that 55 organizations have received grant funding under four grant opportunities awarded in 2023. Ten Arizona housing programs and homeless service providers have been awarded funding through From Crowd to Home Grants. The following service providers were selected in Spring, 2023 to receive grants totaling of $4,790,340 to address homelessness throughout the state:
Flagstaff Shelter Services, Flagstaff - $375,000
Native American Connections, Phoenix - $90,000
City of Tucson, Tucson - $2,000,000
Sojourner Center, Phoenix - $181,500
Rehoboth Community Development Corporation, Glendale - $512,055.75
Bisbee Coalition for the Homeless, Bisbee - $115,806
St. Vincent de Paul, Phoenix - $1,000,000
Pima County, Tucson - $300,000
Coalition for Compassion and Justice, Prescott - $87,603.75
Family Promise of Greater Phoenix, Scottsdale - $128,374.50
In addition, 45 Arizona housing programs and homeless service providers were awarded a total of $4,200,000 in funding through its Nonprofit Capacity Building Grants and High Impact Rural Solutions Grants initiatives in the Fall of 2023. The following 22 service providers have been selected to receive a total of $220,000 to support capacity building efforts in 2024:
Additionally, 18 nonprofit organizations have been awarded funding to support pilot projects, program expansion, and larger scale capacity building efforts under the Innovations for Impact grant opportunity. Awards total $2,493,248 and include:
Lastly, five rural Arizona nonprofit organizations will receive funding under the High Impact Rural Solutions grants. Grants totaling $1,486,752 have been awarded to the following organizations addressing homelessness and housing instability in rural Arizona:
The Arizona Housing Coalition wishes to extend its congratulations to awardee organizations across the state, as well as to thank all the organizations that took the time to apply for funding. The Coalition also thanks the dedicated grant review panelists who volunteered several hours to grant application review and scoring. Of the awards, Arizona Housing Coalition Executive Director Nicole Newhouse shared, “We were blown away by the response to these funding opportunities. We learned that the need is great across Arizona, and that community organizations working to address homelessness and housing instability are undertaking incredible work with limited resources in every region across the state. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the board, staff, and volunteers at community organizations working every day to serve our state’s most vulnerable residents, those without a place to call home.”
